Infosecurity Europe 2025 was a reminder that cyber risk is no longer a siloed problem. The event’s theme, “Building a Safer Cyber World”, resonated strongly with us, not only because of the scale of the challenges on display, but because of how clearly the industry is moving towards collaboration, intelligence, and transparency.

We had a strong presence on the floor with our CEO Alan Facey, CCO Virginia del Olmo, Head of Product Sean Egan, and Head of Marketing Paula Calvo on-site in London, meeting with security professionals, policy leaders, and developers from across the ecosystem. Our stand became a space for open conversations focused on a common concern: how do we gain visibility into the cryptography we already depend on?

We introduced a clear focus: Quantum-Safe Starts with Detection. It wasn’t just a tagline, it reflected a shift we’re seeing across regulated and lesser regulated industries. As post-quantum risk planning moves from theory into action, many organisations are finding that visibility into cryptographic components is limited at best. This theme came through clearly in a conversation with the CISO of a fintech company who was actively establishing a Quantum Readiness Programme. " We’ve made progress tracking our third-party components, but we still don’t have a clear picture of which cryptographic algorithms are actually in use across our products, especially in our legacy code."

It was a familiar dilemma. We spoke about how SCANOSS doesn’t just flag the presence of encryption in a codebase, but enriches CBOMs with risk intelligence: algorithm type, classification, compliance status (e.g., FIPS or NIST), and even whether it’s quantum-safe. True quantum readiness begins with this level of detection and actionable intelligence a factor often missing from traditional SCA tools.

We also took time to attend key sessions, including Hadrian Security’s talk on prioritising threat exposure through the hacker’s perspective. While their approach sits in a different part of the security spectrum, it gave us valuable perspective. What resonated most was not the tooling itself, but the mindset: understanding that modern security requires context, prioritisation, and adaptability. For us at SCANOSS, it reinforced the importance of surfacing hidden risk in places where security teams often lack visibility.

As our CEO put it in one of many ocassions: You can’t mitigate what you can’t see”

Infosecurity Europe was a chance to listen, learn, and be part of the global effort to make software security smarter. SCANOSS is proud to be part of this movement, not as the loudest voice in the room, but as a team committed to open collaboration, meaningful tools, and actionable transparency.

Let’s keep building a safer cyber world together.
